April 23:
Already this spring a pair the Grey Toufted Titmice nested in the little log bird cabin that hangs in the dead tree by my bedroom porch. The parents and chicks flew-the-coop some three weeks ago. Now, an awesome set of Great Crested Flycatchers are bringing in sticks to add to materials left by this year's titmice, also from the Pine Warblers that nested there last spring. I'm so intrigged by the work these two are doing, so quickly back and forth from the soon-to-be the new hatching grounds of the new family.
